Stay tuned to find out!

Our pick: Which web browser is best?

There are a lot of web browsers on the market today, each with its own unique set of features and benefits. So, which one is the best? That's a tough question to answer since everyone has different needs and preferences. However, we've compiled a list of our favorite browsers, based on our own experiences and opinions.

    • Best overall: Google Chrome

    • Best for security: Mozilla Firefox

    • Best for customization: Vivaldi

    • Best for social media: Opera

    • Best for macOS: Apple Safari

    • Best for Windows: Microsoft Edge

What should you look for in a web browser?

When it comes to browsing the web, people have a lot of different options. They can use their smartphone, tablet, or computer to access the internet. In this post, we'll take a look at what you should consider when choosing a web browser. We'll also recommend some of our favorite browsers for various devices. Let's get started!

    Best overall—Google Chrome

Google Chrome is the fastest web browser you can get on a Windows machine. It surpassed even Microsoft’s latest Edge browser--which was based on Chromium until recently when they switched back again in three out of four tests, beating it by far!

Chrome is a heavy hitter when it comes to performance on Macs, outranking Safari in two of four tests. It's an excellent alternative or supplement for those who are worried about how Google uses their data; however, there have been some concerns raised regarding these issues with privacy policies which may make Microsoft Edge your better choice instead if you want complete peace of mind knowing what information will be collected from users through web browser plugins/APIs, etc.

Bottom line: Chrome is the fastest browser on Microsoft Windows and an excellent alternative to Safari, but you have been manually opting in for years. Do you agree that Google will store all your data with no requests or permission from users—in exchange for this speed and convenience?

    Pros

    • Supports a huge extensions library

    • Syncs across devices

    Cons

    • Collects lots of data

    • Uses lots of memory

    Best for security—Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox may not be known for its speed, but it's more about security features than anything else. This makes the browser great if you want to block malware while loading pages quickly instead of being concerned with speeds all day long!

Firefox received a much-needed makeover in 2021. The new design gives the browser an updated and modern look, while also underlining that it's safe for you to use with tools like DNS over HTTPS which encrypted your requests instead of sending them unprotected!

Bottom line: Firefox may be the best internet browser that puts security first, but it’s not as fast or user-friendly.

    Pros

    • Protects against spyware

    • Blocks almost all pop-ups

    Cons

    • Consumes high memory

    • Falls behind other browsers in speed

    Best for customization—Vivaldi

Vivaldi is a revolutionary browser that offers endless customization options to suit your needs. It allows you the freedom and flexibility of creating different profiles with their own settings, making it easy for users who have diverse requirements in terms of functionality while still being able to use one streamlined interface no matter what type they're looking at!

However, it is one of the fastest browsers on Windows. The only problem with this browser's performance was that sometimes it would rank fourth in all four tests we ran and other times third or last depending on what test you're running!

Vivaldi is the perfect browser for people who want great performance but also prefer less customizable or complex browsers.

    Pros

    • Offers plenty of customization

    • Syncs data across devices

     Cons

    • Lacks iPhone, and iPad versions

    • Consumes high memory

    Best for social media—Opera

The popular browser, Opera Software has come up with a new update that includes built-in social network tools. This allows you to easily access your favorite sites like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp without having any additional downloads or extensions installed on top of their regular program! You can also use this for safer browsing by PROTECTING yourself from third-party tracking devices while INTERNATIONAL TRAVELing online - all thanks in part due to its VPN component which keeps logs outta sight (so no one knows what kinda day it was).

Opera may be a great browser for those who want to save on their data plan, but it was not as fast or fluid in our tests. It did have one saving grace: its battery-saver mode which reduced background activity and pauses animations when enabled before running the test suite- though we verified this setting was off during these runs too!

    Pros

    • Includes a built-in VPN

    • Includes built-in social tools

    Cons

    • Loads some websites incorrectly

    • Updates less frequently than Chrome

    Best for macOS—Apple Safari

Safari is a great example of how Apple optimizes its software for Macs. It’s fast, simple to use, and somewhat customizable with Chrome extensions support as well as tab preview options in case you're one of those power users who want more control over their browser experience! And while we will always recommend Firefox due to its security features -Safari does include a privacy report panel displaying all websites that have tracked your activity across the internet so far this month.

Safari is a great browser for Apple devices, but it doesn’t have any Google features. This means we can only measure its performance on macOS and there are no numbers from Windows-based PCs to report back with speed data as well! However in two out of four tests, they both took top spots - so if you want something fast either one will do just fine though.

Bottom line: Safari is a great browser for Macs, but if you also use an iPhone or iPad then it’s best to stick with the Safari browser. However, everything changes when we talk about other platforms like Windows and Android which offer better multiplatform solutions due to their lack of data collection woes as compared to Chrome on PC computers (or laptops).

    Pros

    • Runs super fast on Macs

    • Uses low memory

    Cons

    • Isn’t available outside Apple’s ecosystem

    • Has a limited extensions library

    Best for Windows—Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge browser was a clunky mess despite the company's good intentions. It used its own in-house engine and couldn't compete with Chrome, which gave Microsoft an excuse to scrap it for Chromium - one of Google's proprietary webkit-based browsers that many other companies use as well including Opera or Vivaldi among others.

Edge has been able to keep up with the competition and now offers a fast browsing experience on most platforms. It fell just short of being ranked number one, but it still performs well enough for your average user who doesn't need fancy features or graphics-heavy websites!

Bottom line: Microsoft Edge has been a great browser for Windows and an excellent replacement for Safari if you need one that runs outside Apple’s ecosystem.

    Pros

    • Synchronizes across devices

    • Includes a PDF viewer

    Cons

    • Lacks a version for Linux

    • Collects your browser history
