Premise Wireless Internet is a company that offers wireless internet services whereby clients are connected to the internet securely and efficiently. It was started in 2005 and provides fixed wireless solutions that employ point-to-point and point-to-multipoint technologies for broadband services over large distances. Unlike telecoms, which rely on phone lines or cable infrastructure, Premise uses direct beaming of internet signals between transmitters, which are mounted strategically in a community. This is because they can avoid such factors as geographical constraints and costs, which are faced by conventional internet service providers. Wireless antennas offer an average download speed of 25–50 MBs and low latency that allows internet use for such services as video streaming, online gaming, and VoIP telephone. This is because Premise’s wireless internet has a competitive advantage of being able to reach customers in rural areas who may not have access to the internet. They can use wireless frequencies such as 3.65 GHz and the newly available CBRS spectrum to provide affordable broadband at home and to far-flung businesses quickly and with few variations in speed. As fixed wireless equipment and frequencies evolve further, Premise has a strategy to gain additional coverage areas and higher speeds for more areas in the next few years.
