Based in Northwest Ohio, NWOB is an organization dedicated to enhancing connection for areas not well serviced or not at all covered by broadband technologies. Established in 2020 to meet the need for reasonably priced, sustainable fixed broadband services for underprivileged and unserved parts in Williams, Defiance, Paulding Van Wert, and Putnam counties, NWOB is a charity. About thirty percent of Northwest Ohio homes today cannot obtain internet speeds of 25Mbps download and 3Mbps upload. Small companies, farmers, students, medical professionals, and others all have ramifications from this. NWOB proposes to do this by building Open Access Fiber Networks under community ownership. These networks will provide one gigabit per second equal upload and download speeds to spur economic growth and improve human well-being. To evaluate the possibility and provide financing for building broadband networks, NWOB works with local governments and enterprises, community anchors, Internet service providers, and citizens. Federal and state funds, commercial businesses, and community donations via crowdsourcing provide the money for the operations of the organization. Any ISPK hoping to provide reasonably priced services may access NWOB networks. The community method entails the local people taking responsibility for the network and including the people in decision-making.
