Taylor Electric Cooperative operates under membership ownership and supplies electricity to 58, 000 members spanning over 41 counties in South and Central Kentucky. More recently, Taylor Electric has embarked on a campaign of installing high-speed fiber internet to many of the rural members it serves. Taylor Electric’s fiber internet service is branded as Taylor Electric Internet and provides members with up to 1Gbps download speeds. This connectivity has created new opportunities for streaming services, gaming, and video calls that were before scarce in Taylor Electric’s rural regions. Taylor Electric Internet offers members an option to select several types of service speeds depending on the member’s preferences and pocket. There are no fixed monthly data and the usage of data is also unlimited but the offers have no contract included. Telephone and accessories are free for such individuals who agree to be served with the facility. According to Taylor Electric, they primarily offer broadband internet services to improve the quality of existing and future lives within the served communities. They plan to continue this effort by implementing broadband infrastructure through a fiber optic network for people living and working in rural areas. By furnishing reliable, high-speed internet at reasonable rates, Taylor Electric’s members obtain resources for economics and education that have been unobtainable before.
