State Telephone Internet (STI) is a regional telephone company that offers telecommunication services such as phone, Internet, and cable TV connection for clients in rural places in our state. Started in 1962 initially as a telephone cooperative, STI now boasts of clients reaching more than 100,000 customers. As technology had grown STI began moving from a telephone company to one that offered dial-up and later broadband internet services. Currently, more than 85% of their consumer use fiber optic internet service offered by STI which can reach 1Gbps. They also provide cable TV plans with basic and options for premium channels as well as digital video recorder equipment. This has made the company carry on investing in infrastructure to make sure customers in rural areas receive telecommunication services as provided in the urban area. Some have enhanced internet speeds and capacity by expanding the existing fiber lines over their extensive coverage area. The company boasts of efficient, expert customer service and affordable rates it ensures STI provides a satisfactory service to link up the rural region of the state. While technologies change from one day to another, their role is to offer basic communication services to rural regions.
