Rural Reach Internet is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing Broadband internet connection to the rural areas in the United States of America that have not been connected. Rural Reach was created in 2015, currently, it is focused on connecting ISPs, governments, philanthropic foundations, and rural communities directly to fund, build, and sustain broadband networks. Today, many of such regions still use dial-up connections for browsing or have no internet connection at all. The latter affects the capacities of citizens to make educational materials, telemedicine, work opportunities, and much more. Through technologies such as Fibre-Optic Connectivity, Fixed Wireless Broadband, TV White Space Networks, and Satellite Internet, Rural Reach will endeavor to close the urban-rural digital gap. They also emphasize both the installation of the necessary infrastructure and providing people with the necessary tools and skills to take advantage of new connectivity. Up to now, Rural Reach has connected more than fifty rural towns and villages to the services, serving thousands of households and businesses with high-speed broadband access. Through their work, they were able to support local businesses, reduce and sometimes even stop young people from moving to other cities, support distance learning among students, and ensure that people have access to government services and health care facilities. Thanks to the growing support of private and public investors, Rural Reach plans for even greater outreach in the coming years and makes the digital divide between rural and urban residents a thing of the past.
