CWOC is a community wireless non-profit ISP located in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and it was established in 2013. CWOC has planned to give more concern to establishing affordable and reliable high-speed internet services for the people of Charlestown. CWOC employs wireless technology that enables it to create network access points and deliver internet services. The following have installed several wireless access locations within Charlestown that citizens can access. The network uses a permitted 5 GHz frequency band, and one can expect a download speed of more than 50 Mbps. CWOC is a community-based ISP, which means that its primary function is to provide Internet connections to residents and not-for-profit. In a bid to encourage users to subscribe to the service, the fees are set at twenty dollars for the basic package. CWOC also has affordable pricing for the specials to accommodate everyone, especially those in the low-income bracket. The establishment of a mesh infrastructure makes it possible for CWOC to add other access points and cover more areas within the shortest period. In the last few years, CWOC has expanded its services in connecting this area and other public housing areas in Charlestown, which are not well connected. Thus, the targeted navigation approach of CWOC has granted the population an opportunity to search for essential resources and services on the Internet.
