Several internet service providers are in the Midwest region, and ALE-NET Internet is one of them that offers internet services to its clients. ALE-NET was established in 2005 by a group of telecom engineers; the company’s primary goal is to provide fast connectivity through fiber optic internet connection to rural areas that have not been privileged with it. Although its mission is “to connect the disconnected,” ALE-NET has been gradually increasing its coverage over the past fifteen years. They currently provide broadband internet services both for homes and offices with download speeds of up to 1Gbps in some areas of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. With both fiber and fixed wireless networks implemented, the company shall be in a proper position to provide low-latency connections in areas where they are physically distant. Some of the offered services by ALE-NET include; literally, no limit to the amount of data offered; also no contractual obligations from the consumer; the service provider does not slow down the internet connection during busy hours. This Midwestern company has a customer support office also located in central Illinois with an eagerness to help should any problems occur. Currently, ALE-NET is not yet on the same level as other well-known ISPs from the large national providers but it has been credited for offering cheap rates and good services for the areas that are still under-served. Having a clear vision of expanding the network in the next ten years, ALE-NET aims to increase the narrowing digital gap and improve the connection throughout the Midwestern region.
